[Christ] Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. Bro. Robert A. Wirges

Bro.Wirges began serving the Lord at age 19. Shortly after meeting his now wife, Pamela, he repented of his sins and asked the Lord to save him. He and Pamela married in 1980 and attended Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, but they later joined and began serving at NLR. Bro.Wirges was the music director and men’s Sunday school teacher. Sis.Wirges taught children’s classes. Six children later, Bro.Wirges felt God calling him to preach. He prayed about it and surrendered to the call. In 1998, Hamilton asked him to be their pastor which he felt God wanted him to do. They served 10 beautiful, memorable years there. In 2008, NLR asked him to return and be their pastor which having prayed he believed God desired him to do. He and his wife have been serving God here ever since. They pray they will be blessed with many more years of service and hear God tell them “Well done,” when He calls them home.
